About the Center for Early Childhood Education

At CECE, we believe every child deserves a great start — and every family deserves a community that supports them. Your child will enjoy nutritious meals throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Our active parent association brings families together through events, activities and fundraisers you'll actually look forward to.
We also know that students and researchers need spaces that work for them — that's why we offer observation rooms that parents are welcome to use as well. From the moment you walk in, you'll feel the warmth here. We're not just a childcare center; we're a place where kids love to learn, play and grow.

Philosophy

We believe that children learn best in an environment that is safe, nurturing, and child-centered. Our teachers provide daily experiences that stimulate cognitive, social, and emotional growth and development in each individual.

The programs provided by the Center for Early Childhood Education have been carefully planned to meet the goals, expectations, and policies of the University of California, the California Department of Education-Child Development Division, the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, and CECE's staff and parents.

Mission Statement

The mission of UCR CECE is to enable parents to reach their educational and professional goals and to support children to reach their full potential in all developmental areas. CECE supports the university’s teaching, research, and community service goals by providing the children of students, staff, faculty, and community members with a healthy, safe, and inclusive learning environment. Children are nurtured, encouraged, and supported by our staff to enable them to reach the next level in their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
