Mission
The mission of the Parent Café is to provide a safe and non-judgmental opportunity for parents to engage in conversations about their challenges, successes, and strategies. Participation in cafés will help promote parental resilience, social connections, concrete support in times of need, knowledge of parenting and child development, and social and emotional competence in children. The overarching goal of the Parent Cafés are to strengthen families and community engagement.
Parent Café Model
- Respects the knowledge and learning of the entire group
- Encourages connection through relevant and reflective conversation
- Does not offer advise but seeks solutions from within the group
- Encourages participants to continue involvement on topics of their choice
