Every CECE classroom is led by credentialed teachers who follow California Department of Education and NAEYC guidelines. We serve children from 2 months through age 5.
UC Riverside's Center for Early Childhood Education is proud to be have achieved the highest level of accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. To achieve the Accreditation+ accountability tier, a site must meet research-based standards related to curriculum, teaching, assessment, health, staff qualifications and family partnerships.
We believe that children learn best in an environment that is safe, nurturing and child-centered. Our teachers provide daily experiences that stimulate cognitive, social and emotional growth and development in each individual.
OUR APPROACH
Learning through exploration
Our teachers design developmentally appropriate experiences for lessons in math, science, language, art, music and motor skills. Children have regular access to outdoor play, and families receive progress reports and two teacher conferences each year.
We also serve meals: Breakfast, lunch and morning or afternoon snacks are included with your enrollment costs.

More than a classroom — a campus community
CECE has an active parent association that plans family events and fundraisers throughout the year. Observation rooms at both sites let parents see their child's day in real time. Students and researchers are also welcome to use these spaces.
We follow all California Department of Education guidelines and have achieved the prestigious Accreditation+ ranking by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs.
Tuition Rates at a Glance
Meals are included in your enrollment costs. Subsidized child care is available to families who meet certain guidelines. Grants are available to UCR students to help reduce costs. For more information about eligibility, contact our team.

Two locations on campus
Both CECE North and CECE South are located at 3333 Watkins Drive, Riverside, CA 92507. The center is open Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–5:30 pm.
